March 1, 2006
Research Triangle Park, NC, March 1, 2006. Keeping track of class announcements, assignments, schedule changes, and other school information is much easier now for the nearly 35,000 students at the University of Cincinnati. Recently, the university integrated the clearTXT mobile communication system, which delivers important class and school information directly to students' cell phones and email addresses.
“The number one goal of the University's strategic plan is to ‘Place Students at the Center,'” explained Dr. Michael Lieberman, Dean of Instructional and Research Computing. “The plan includes putting the priority on the students' needs, and creating a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-week learning, living and social environment. We believe that clearTXT helps us accomplish those goals.”
“We're extremely proud that the University of Cincinnati selected us to help reach their strategic goals”, said Doug Kaufman, CEO of clearTXT. “We share their dedication to providing student focused learning tools and environments and are committed to helping them achieve their goals.”
This commitment is already evident. According to Dr. Lieberman, “One of the greatest benefits of working with clearTXT is the helpfulness of their staff. The staff was very patient with us as we piloted the product and made sure it worked properly in our complex Blackboard environment. They've been great to work with.”
As clearTXT is adopted throughout the university, students and teachers will make use of even more messaging options available through clearTXT. In the coming semester, plans for clearTXT include partnerships with on- and off-campus organizations and businesses. "
